Cyprus Visa Guide All nationals entering Cyprus must possess a valid passport. Nationals of EU countries as well as nationals of Switzerland, Iceland. Lichtenstein and Norway may enter Cyprus using their national identity cards provided a photograph and the nationality of the bearers appears on them. Entry visas are required for all nationals visiting Cyprus for up to 3 months except for those from the following countries: Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, Austria, Bahamas. Bahrain, Barbados, Belgium, Belize, Botswana, Brunei, Canada, Czech Republic (for a stay of 30 days), Denmark, Dominican Republic, Fiji, Finland, France, Gambia, Ghana, Germany, Greece. Grenada, Guyana, Hungary (for a stay of 30 days), Iceland, India. Ireland, Italy. Jamaica. Japan, Kenya, Kiribati. Kuwait. Lesotho, Liechtenstein. Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malawi, Malaysia, Maldives, Malta, Mauritius, Nauru. Netherlands, New Zealand, Nigeria, Norway, Oman, Papua New Guinea. Poland, Portugal. Qatar, Romania. Russian Federation, Samoa. San Marino, Saudi Arabia. Seychelles, Siera Leone. Singapore. Slovakia (for a stay of 30 days), Slovenia. Solomon Islands. South Africa (for a stay of 30 days), Spain, Sri Lanka, St. Christopher and Nevis. St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Swaziland, Sweden, Switzerland, Tanzania, Tonga, Trinidad and Tobago, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, Uganda, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States of America, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Transit visas for a stay of up to 5 days in Cyprus are not required if the holder is a citizen of a country mentioned above. Citizens of other countries, except Turkey and Iraq, may obtain transit visas for a stay of up to 5 days upon arrival provided their case is considered bona fide and they are in possession of onward tickets and visas (if required) for their country of destination. Citizens of Turkey and Iraq require prior visas issued by the Migration Officer, Ministry of Interior, Nicosia. Persons without nationality (citizenship) possessing travel documents valid for at least 6 months may obtain a transit visa upon arrival in Cyprus under the same conditions mentioned above. This does not apply to holders of travel documents issued by Egypt who should obtain a prior visa from the Migration Officer, Ministry of the Interior, Nicosia. Visas are required for all persons intending to take up employment or coming to the island for studies. Employment or student visas should be obtained prior to arriving in Cyprus and only from the Migration Department, Ministry of Interior, Nicosia. Nationals of EU countries may apply for an employment/student permit while in Cyprus. Cyprus business or visitors visas are obtainable for a fee of CY£5 from Cypriot embassies/ consulates or from the nearest British embassy/ consulate abroad. Visas are free for the nationals of Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Egypt, Israel, Slovakia, Syria and Ukraine. Official entry ports in Cyprus are Larnaca and Paphos International Airports, and the ports of Larnaca, Limassol and Paphos. It is illegal to enter Cyprus at any other port including the ports of Famagusta, Kyrenia and Karavostasi. It is also illegal to enter Cyprus from any other occupied part of the island. |
